Best AZ Summer 2022 Pool Parties
Arizona summertime is officially here, and with that comes one of the local’s favorite pastimes…getting wasted on Saturdays and Sundays day drinking at pool parties. Since Covid shut us down in 2020 and partially in 2021 in AZ, it feels like this year is the first year 100% back, and Old Town is ready for it. Here we rank the top 5 pool parties in Old Town Scottsdale this year. We live the Never Sober lifestyle, and so our ranking might be a little biased if you were looking for recommendations for a snooze day at a resort pool.
1. Maya Dayclub
Maya has been a staple pool party in AZ for almost 10 years now. It has gone through several transformations over the years, both in square footage and actual building space, to the wintertime transition into the lawn game-style Clubhouse. With the announcement of the Maya hotel going into the location where the Dakota club once stood, they have now really morphed their District Bar and Maya into one giant club. The grounds where the Dakota building once stood will be under construction for a bit, which will include the Maya pool as part of it when completed. Maya continues to bring in big-name talent for their pool parties, so you can expect lines and cover charges unless you are buying a table. If loud music and hot girls in bikinis are your forte, then Maya should be on top of your list.
2. W Hotel Scottsdale
Another classic staple in Old Town, the pool at the W Scottsdale, comes in a close second for fun pool parties. Of course, they deliver bottles to tables in mini yachts and even have colored smoke to come out with your bottles. You can expect to have a lot more space to move around and run into your local drug dealer at the W, vs Maya where you might have a hard time squeezing through everyone. The staff is hot here as well, so don’t forget to tip your bartenders if you wanna keep getting speedy service when you’re ordering those shots at the bars. Also included in the W Hotel is their rooftop lounge Cottontail Lounge which is converted to more of a cocktail bar at night.
3. Cala Pool @ Hotel Sienna
Cala just opened in 2022 and it has been a hot spot ever since. Connected to the Sienna Hotel, right on Camelback Rd. this bar & restaurant has a Tulum vibe with great food and drinks. They just launched their Cala Sunday Brunch program and its become a great Sunday Funday spot. Their pool sits on the 3rd floor and also has a DJ and easily accessible bar. Make reservations here.
4. Hotel Adeline
Hotel Adeline is a swanky and modern style pool with Cabanas and bottle service. They have just resumed their pool parties for the summer, but you can expect a more personal experience here. Reservations are highly recommended as they tend to sell out of their cabanas fairly quickly. DJ’s on Saturdays and Sundays. Yard games are located by the outside bar, and some floats couldn’t hurt to bring along. Located in Old Town on N Scottsdale Rd.
5. Hotel Valley Ho
Last on our list comes in the classic retro hotel, the Valley Ho. While this pool party used to be one of the more lively pool parties back in the day, it has taken a more casual approach lately. You can expect a DJ on certain weekends when they are promoting a party, otherwise you’ll have pool side speakers, with servers to deliver drinks and a walk up outside bar with all your favorite frozen drinks available. Located in heard of Old Town off of Main street.
